Safety Tips for Loft Beds
Loft beds are great space savers. They give your kids a sleeping space as well as storage space, study area, and play area, depending on the design. Since kids are active, it is necessary to invest in furniture that have passed the government’s safety standards. However, we still need to take other precautions to make sure there are no accidents in the kids’ bedroom.
Here are a few safety tips for the use of loft beds.
• Do not place the loft bed near a ceiling light, fan, or any other appendage on the ceiling.
• Teach your child how to properly use the ladder. Periodically check the sturdiness of the ladder. Make sure it is attached firmly to the bed.
• Place a night light near the bed that lights the ladder properly so that your child can see it even in the dark.
• Check the bed to ensure that there are no decorative details that may catch clothing or be an obstruction to climbing up or down the ladder.
• If the space under the top bunk is used as a study area and a play area, make sure that the study desk does not have sharp edges that your child may bump against.
